G7

G7 is a method for calibrating devices based on achieving a defined Gray Scale. Sonderen Packaging has been qualified as a G7 Master printer by Idea Alliance. What does this mean for you as a customer? Color consistency from production run to production run, and also a shared neutral appearance across multiple media applications.

Why would a print buyer be interested in G7? Typically a print‐buy is either distributed geographically or distributed across different print types. So, for example, a buyer may want to purchase marketing collateral, packaging, and signage with the same brand imagery.

The substrate, gamut, and other print characteristics will vary for the different print products. But if all the print products have the same gray balance and neutral tonality defined by G7, they will look remarkably alike to the human eye. Because buyers believe the similarity of the visual appearance across print products is critical, they now make G7 a buying requirement.

Forest Stewardship Council™

Sonderen Packaging offers Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC®) certified products to our customers.

FSC-certification indicates to consumers that the products they are purchasing, come from responsible, well-managed forests where forest ecosystems are conserved and the rights of workers and their communities are protected. By creating demand for products from responsibly managed forests, FSC is helping protect forests for future generations. In fact, today, more than 40,000 American family forest owners are FSC certified. When we purchase products with the FSC logo, we are saying to the landowner, “thank you for taking care of your forest.”

FSC certified paperboard must be ordered in advance and has a premium price. There are several logo options that can be printed on our customers packaging to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability through utilizing FSC certified paperboard. Read more about FSC.
