On March 22nd, Keva Sonderen was honored at the Women in Business Leadership Awards breakfast as one of the “Top 12 women to watch” in 2018.
Twelve women were nominated by their peers and then hand-picked for their contributions to the Spokane region through exceptional leadership and generous service to the community, these women’s inspiring stories were shared in the Business Catalyst section of the Spokane Coeur d’Alene Living magazine, 2018 March issue.
The community rallied to celebrate Keva and her fellow honorees at a breakfast award event at Chateau Rive in the Flour Mill, where each award recipient was given the opportunity to speak about their journey and what inspires them.
Sonderen Packaging overflowed three tables at the event with family, friends, and coworkers, as well as supporters from Keva’s various extra circular business groups including, instructors from the Emerging Leaders Program at Gonzaga and the Spokane Chapter of Executive Women International, where Keva has been a member since 2005.
“I am humbled to be chosen out of 50 ladies who were nominated for this award. The majority of the twelve winners were business owners and entrepreneurs, amazing company to say the least,” says Keva. “My family and my co-workers have always been encouraging and supportive, my biggest fans! I credit them with teaching me how to be compassionate and humble, to work hard, and to never give up – which shapes the confidence and character of strong leader.”
Sonderen Packaging employs over 160 people in the Spokane community, and it is Keva’s role as co-owner to help set the vision for the company through strategic direction and purchasing, as well as to further enhance the company culture. From matters of internal communication to external marketing, from leadership accountability to customer relations, Keva’s passion for the company and the Sonderen Packaging team is clear. The support witnessed at the awards event was equally strong.
For advice, Keva left attendees with this pearl: “Nothing worth doing is easy.” For Keva, those hard-but-worth-it activities include business networking, parenting two incredible and energetic kids, and public speaking. Congratulations to Keva on this honor, and thank you for your continued leadership within Sonderen Packaging and the Spokane region!
